The Podcast Studio is a sound-resistant room with a full suite of equipment to record podcasts with up to 4 participants. All participants must be at least 12 years old. The Podcast Studio is located within the Idea Zone. Reservations can be made with our meeting room reservation system. We highly recommend reviewing the instructions below before coming in.
You must bring a photo ID or your Cherry Valley Public Library card to your reserved time. We also recommend a USB flash drive or your own device with cloud storage to save your audio file after recording.
Hours and Reservations
The Podcast Studio is available by reservation four days a week.
- Wednesdays from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
- Thursdays from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
- Fridays from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Saturdays from 10:00 am – Noon, and 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

We have the following podcasting equipment:
- (1) Laptop with Audacity installed
- (1) RODE Rodecaster Pro II mixing console
- (4) RODE PodMic Dynamic podcasting microphones
- (4) Audio-Technica ATH-M30x Headphones
- (1) USB-C to USB-C cable
- (1) USB-C to USB adapter
Podcast Studio Policies
- All Code of Conduct and Idea Zone policies must be observed while using the Podcast Studio.
- No food or drink is allowed in the Podcast Studio.
- Podcast Studio patrons must have a CVPL card in good standing to make a reservation.
- Reservations must be made online at https://cherryvalleylib.librarymarket.com/reserve-room. No phone calls or in-person reservations will be accepted.
- Reservations are not considered complete until the patron receives an approval e-mail.
- Reservations for the Podcast Studio are available in 2 hour increments with a monthly limit of 8 hours per patron. Patrons may reserve the Podcast Studio up to 4 weeks in advance.
- Patrons are expected to clean up the Podcast Studio before the end of their reservation time. This includes wiping microphones, keyboards, and the mixer.
- The Podcast Studio can only be used for recording projects; other uses, such as group study, are prohibited.
- The Podcast Studio is limited to a maximum of 4 users at a time.
- Patrons may bring their own recording equipment. However, the library is not responsible for any loss or damage to devices.
- Patrons must agree to the library’s Computer and WiFi Use Policy to use equipment.
- Patrons may save their media to a private cloud server or must bring their own USB storage drives.
- The Podcast Studio must be left in the manner in which it was found, including any equipment charging.
